Mission Statement

To create more beauty in this world through hair, art and zendipity.

Zendipity [zen of serendipity]: the fateful effect of discovering & attracting fortunate luck, surprises and the unexpected through open conscious living and enlightenment.

Heather working during a fashion shoot

My name is Heather Nichols, also known as Zendipity, I love and live to create beauty artistry through professional hair styling and make-up in fashion, film and everyday looks.

Professionally trained at the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute with advanced training in Paris (France), Chicago (Illinois), and Los Angeles (California). I have fine tuned the creativity and skills needed to create the right look for the right moment.

To do this I excercise meticulous attention to detail, utilize experience acquired over a decade in the industry, a background in Philosophy of Aesthetics/Studio Arts, having successfully run my own business, and through maintaining an active involvement in hair, make-up, fashion, and art.

I have worked hard as well been fortunate to collaborate with, learn from, and be inspired by the best of the best in the industry.  My love of beauty has taken me all over the globe. This is my passion and way of life.

Currently residing in San Francisco and Seattle but available to travel internationally as well as nationally.

Other Interests

When not sculpting tresses, you will most likely find me with a camera in my hand or glued to my mac, manipulating beats or bitmaps. I am a DJ and electronic music producer, under the moniker Dj Lady Athena, spinning records for dance floors, lounges, radio and festivals around the globe collaborating with various live acts for more than a decade and a half while also creating multi-media art through photography, painting, and installations. Some of my work can be seen here…

When able to squeeze more time out of the clock I can often be found dancing, hula-hooping, snowboarding, attempting tricky yoga postures, creating homemade beauty remedies, cooking, savouring a nice glass of wine and laughing until my stomach hurts.

My love of hair, music, and art is matched only by my love of travel and adventure which has introduced me to many lovely and frightening experiences to include jumping out of airplanes, New Years in Times Square New York 2000, brushing barracudas while diving in Key West, playing catch-me-if-you-can through the homes of locals in the city on stilts of Tai O in Hong Kong, turntablist percussion member of electronic ambient band Alpha 60, riding camels drumming with Berbers under full moon in the African Sahara, sailing in the warm turquoise Mediterranean, near death bus burning on Spanish mountaintops, many more……
